Description: New Textures for Stuart 277s USS Sangamon Class CVEs by UncleTgt

This comprises a set of new textures for depicting any of the Sangamon Class CVEs used in the Pacific during 1942-44.

Measure 14 was used by these vessels when in the SWPTO during early 1943. The ...44 folders represent the colours used from late 1943 until the end of 1944. I have provided both numbered & blank flight deck options.

Measure 21 - USS Suwannee
Measure 22 - USS Sangamon & USS Santee
Measure 33/10A - USS Chenango

Texture Installation: Simply copy the chosen textures into the texture folder of your Sangamon class CVE.

Creating more Sangamon class CVEs:

Copy the whole USS_SangamonClass1942_LOD ship. Rename this new ship folder to your chosen ship name, for example USS_Chenango44

With ships, you have to also open up the ship.cfg file and modify the following lines as the sim wants the folder name, the DP file and the sim name in the ship.cfg file to be the same.

[fltsim.0]
title=USS_SangamonClass1942_LOD - change to USS_Chenango44
sim=USS_SangamonClass1942_LOD - change to USS_Chenango44
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=

Save your amended ship.cfg. Once done, rename to DP file to match the "sim=" name. In our example USS_SangamonClass1942_LOD.dp becomes USS_Chenango44.dp

Thanks to: Stuart277 for a great & ever-expanding collection of ship models, easy on frame rates but not at the expense of detail.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.

John,

My apologies for not attending to this yesterday! I have been feeling under the weather, and did not maintain things to my usual standards. These might be useful for an invasion not named Normandy in the Mediterranean in 1944, who knows?

Excellent job on these escort carriers! :applause:

Description: RAAF B25 Mitchell Skinpack by UncleTgt.

This is a collection of repaints for the series of B25 Mitchell models developed by Tango Romeo for CFS 2.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) was rather late in adopting the Mitchell, and actually operated only a relatively few examples of the type. The first Mitchells actually arrived in Australia almost immediately after Pearl Harbor, these planes being initially intended for the exiled Netherlands East Indies Air Force (NEIAF). However, these planes were quickly snapped up the USAAF. The NEIAF did not get their first permanent B-25s until late 1942. These served with No. 18 Squadron, which was formally a part of the RAAF but whose planes carried the Dutch flag insignia of the NEIAF and were flown largely by Dutch crews. (although Australians as well as other nationalities also took part)

It was not until the spring of 1944 that the Australians were to get Mitchells that were flown in RAAF insignia and which carried RAAF serials. Fortunately, by the spring of 1944, No. 18 Squadron had more than enough Mitchells than which could be used by just one squadron, and could now spare a few. Arrangements were made to re-equip the RAAF's No. 2 Squadron with these extra aircraft. The first batch of 20 B-25Ds were transferred from the Dutch contracts to the RAAF in late April of 1944. RAAF serials assigned to these planes were A47-1 to A47-20. They were followed in June/July by five more B-25Ds (A47-21/25) and seven B-25Js (A47-26/32). Five more B-25Ds (A47-33/37) were delivered in August of 1944 and two more B-25Js (A47-38 and -39) in September. Many of the later B-25Ds carried field modifications which included a tail gun, waist gun positions below the mid-upper turret, and "cheek" gun packs mounted on the side of the fuselage.

The Mitchells replaced the Beauforts previously used by No. 2 Squadron. No. 2 Squadron flew sorties in cooperation with the Dutch-operated Mitchells of No. 18 Squadron against targets in the East Indies. Both squadrons achieved considerable success in the anti-shipping role.

The textures are:

TR_B25vc30 (B25D-30, a late model with tail guns & waist guns. TR's original shipped with a Russian Lend-Lease skin)

A47-2 KO-Z "Stormbird" MAY '44 Previously N5-187 32 missions completed.

A47-16 KO-L "Ell for Leather" MAY '44 Previously Dutch N5-203. Dutch name "Kaladjati" still visible. A total of 57 missions completed.

A47-16 KO-N DEC '44 same aircraft as above, after maintenance overhaul. Painted in overall foliage green paint.

TR_B25J

A47-29 KO-D NOV '44 Previously N5-255. 33 missions completed.

A47-26 KO-K MAY '45 Previously N5-220. 49 missions completed.

I've included modified dp files to reflect the low level anti-shipping missions often employed by this squadron.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Thanks to: Tango Romeo for a great series of aircraft variants.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.
