First of all - thanks to grumpybear007 for mailing me a beautifully labelled DVD - it's better than most bought stuff you get nowadays.

And WOW is it worth it. I installed it last night, managed a free flight last night and another this morning. It made me late for work but what the heck. Three missions flown, two Albatross shot down and one mid-air. Seems about par :)

A query though. I've got a dual core and I need to set the affinity to stop that terrible wobble you get. Anyone know how to cure this permanently?

I need to look in to free track as well - I imagine it will revolutionise the game.

Looking forward to getting shot down by you all.

Ever since Microsoft shut down it's server, there's been very little shooting down, being done. :kilroy:

Thanks - MS isn't recognising my key for some reason so I can't install it. That'll probably be the change of mobo.

Shame about the server.

Is there any way to get into Warp with a slower plane? I don't have 40 minutes to fly to a rail yard - I've got too much else on.

You need 123 mph to wrap so you'll need to dive to reach that speed and press x. Or there's a patch to reduce it at 66 mph

If you got your DVD from grumpybear there should be a "warp" patch on the disk. I got my copy from him and it included this stress relieving patch (pardon the pun).

Cheers,
-Rooster

You need the 123mph, but a 1000 foot min. Normally climb to 1700, shallow dive
DH2 - 2500 feet
EIII - 3000 feet
Gauges on ( F5 )

.......................................................................
The WarpZap Patch allows Warp at 66mph, BUT No minimum altitude.

You can get in trouble, hitting a house, a tree, or a Hill ( you lose )

If you volunterily hold 500 feet... NO Problem :kilroy:

To Other Means

The warpzap file is there on your Dvd.

Brilliant - thanks all. I was seeing my fun snatched away. Should have known better :d

Great community here.

OK, I feel a bit daft now. How do you end a mission? I came back, did a perfect 3 pointer on the grass and hit "E" thinking it'd turn the engine off - nothing. So after a small taxi tour of northern France I ended the mission from the options drop down and the game froze.

How do you end missions please?

Thanks.

More Daftness on the way :d
The perfect 3 pointer was hopefully with an SE5, that's the only one that did in RL
Since you have NO brakes, a good way to kill the engine is

Idle Mixture Cutoff - Cntrl+ Shft+F6

'E' is engine-autostart. Having 'E' also shut off the engine would be way too logical for Microsoft.

If you want to kill the engine and come to a stop you either have to fully lean out the mixture (cntrl-shift-F6) as Gimpy said or kill the magnetos (I think you hit cntrl-M several times, or is it shift-M?, forget).

I have the idle/mixture cut off mapped to the "g" key. Since there are no retractable landing gear, the "g" key is not used in OFF. Sometimes I map it to a joystick button. Either way is better than having to hit Ctrl, Shift, F6 when the trees at the end of the field are getting bigger by the second!

If your duo-core is AMD, google up "amd_dc_opt.exe"
Cured my herky-jerkies.

OK cheers all. So I simply hit Ctl+ Shft+F6+ctl+M+shift+M+Esc (which I did - the game froze after) and I'm fine - gotcha.

It was a DH 2 BTW.

Hello,

don't forget - while you hit Ctl+ Shft+F6+ctl+M+shift+M+Esc to also hit 6 and 4 on the numeric pad to look left and right, to adjust your mixture (i use ß for lean and ´ for fat), switch on battery, lights, adjust the magnetos via Shift+K, or wait was that something else, maybe and do not forget your joystick, firing, looking around you and adjusting views towards or from your target :icon_lol:

Isn't the factory setting from MS great ? Imagine flying a Boeing 747 with MS's Flight sim. I guess it becomes impossible to "fly" a sim without Track IR and at least three keyboards anymore.

Greetings,
Catfish
