THE 2025 "ALL SIMS AIR TOUR"

START DATE: 12/1/2025

END DATE: JANUARY 30, 2026

You are cordially invited to participate in the 2025-2026 "All Sims Air Tour", a modern 're-creation' of the National Air Tour of the 1920's and 1930's.

A 3,400 mile Tour encompassing 27 different stops in 20 different States, starting and ending at Willow Run Airport (KYIP) in Dearborn, Michigan.

THE ROUTE:

The Flights range from approximately 55 to 180 miles in length, and the Tour can be flown in any manner you choose.

Although the original 'spirit' of the Tour was to showcase Airplanes from the 20's and 30's, given the Availability of 'Vintage' Aircraft for a specific Sim platform the Tour may be flown with a 'modern' Airplane if you desire to do so.

Because the Holiday season is upon us and participants may have personal commitments for the Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year's Holidays, the Time for the Event is such that Participants may tailor their Flights to whatever fits their Time commitments.

The Tour is structured around two important factors; Having Fun, and Having Fun. Not a Race, no Time Constraints, no complicated Rules other than the Route itself. However, it is highly encouraged that Participants post a Travelogue of your Flights along with a couple Screenshots, describing your journey in whatever manner tickles your fancy; a Story, simple Description, etc.

There will be a Thread in the Multiplayer/RTW Forum dedicated to the Tour. Please note that this is not a Multiplayer Event, just an Offline one.
If you desire, you may start your own Thread documenting your Tour as well.

So, if you're up to the challenge, and want to join in with a fun group of Flight Simmers to finish off the Year, come along for the Ride!

Below is a Little Nav Map of the waypoints involved as well as two LNM "PLN" files. One is specifically marked for FSX even though they are both "pln" files. I wasn't sure if there was any difference in the two (one was saved for MSFS 2020) so I made separate files just in case.All_Sims_Air Tour.jpg

Thank you both for the details about the All Sims Air Tour, and the flight plan files.

I was curious to see what roughly era-appropriate aircraft are already available for MSFS 2020 so I did some searching for "Vintage Aircraft".

Here are some the available Vintage aircraft that I was able to find in year order.
1 Curtiss JN-4 Jenny 1915.jpg

2 Curtiss Robertson Airplane Mfg. Co J-1 Robin 1928.jpg

3 Wedell Williams Model 44 - Modern 1930.jpg

4 Aeronca C3 Master 1931.jpg

5 DeHavilland D.H.88 1934.jpg

6 Percival MewGull 1934.jpg

7 North American Aviation T-6 Texan 1935.jpg

8 Grumman G-21A Goose 1937.jpg

9 Auster J1 Autocrat 1945.jpg

10 DeHavilland Canada DHC-1 1946.jpg
This one above is the only aircraft I purchased, all the rest were free or included with my copy of MSFS 2020.

Hope this list is helpful for anyone using MSFS 2020 for the All Sims Air Tour. 🙂

I will be flying the Percival Mew Gull for the All Sims Air Tour.

Best regards,
Melo965

Oh, I got all excited by the Aeronca C-3 and J-1 Robin and wondered how I’d ever missed them, but turns out they’re portovers of the GAS FSX versions and not actually MSFS 2020 planes, with all the massive issues that portovers entail. Bummer.

You could also use the super CAS Piper Cub, DC-3, Boeing 247, or any of the awesome De Havillands that Flight Replicas and Ant’s have released. Tiger Moth would be nice from a quality standpoint but it’s slooooow.

If you’re allowing the Chipmunk, then throw some drop tanks under the P-38 or a Corsair and do it in style. :)

Thanks to SOH Admin for a seamless upgrade to member+, sent email yesterday, got the upgrade within 24 hours. Very impressed by the quick response. So can now post. ViperPilot2 as our event Coordinator here in SOH, has kindly posted the invite to all simmers in all the different forums here in SOH. (Once he unlocks the 'Official' forum, I'll post in it. I'm on FS2002 and will probably only do a few legs, be an 'armchair tourist/observer', always interesting to see other people's flying and stories. A few weeks ago I researched KYIP (and its neighbour KDTW): Wikipedia, Google Maps, and of course FS2002. Yesterday I climbed back into the sim and revisited both for familiarisation. I plan to fly into KDTW aboard a Concorde - need the very long runway of 6,000 ft or more), then get myself to KYIP and probably hire a Cessna 172 and do the 1st leg to KBTL Kalamazoo. A nice little sightseeing jaunt.) Sim adventures like this are a great, fun way to learn some world geography. (Just now, via Google Maps, I've discovered the 'Michigan Flight Museum' at KYIP. Will definitely enjoy a few hours visiting there once I get to KYIP.)
