The Apple-Gizmodo plot thickens

To be honest, Gizmodo knowingly purchased a stolen product, then dismantled it and put pictures all over the internet.

Good going...

Well, it was good for business, right? Is their website not hoppin' right now? I'm not excusing their actions, I'm saying that they knew this all along.

It's going to be really hard to charge Gizomodo with theft, especially since they weren't the ones that got it from the bar.

Receiving stolen goods? Well it would have to be proven that the original guy stole it AND they had reason to believe the guy stole it even though he told them he found it.

They could probably even argue they paid the guy for the phone to ensure Apple got it back (in addition to wanting to look at it).

Now the dismantling part.... vandalism maybe?

Now I am getting tired of hearing about it. What is the use now of going after these kids. The damage is done, and they have the phone back. If they sold info on the innerts to a huge phone corporation like Nokia, then I can understand. But if they only showed it to Gizmodo and that was it, no innerts photos to Nokia, then what in the world....????

I think that if Apple pursues this, it will only make them look bad. Bad publicity. Slap their hands and shove it under the rug..

arrghh...

On a side note under the shadow of all this, the iPad 3G goes on sale tomorrow...
