The Curtiss-Wright Condor

For me this is a great plane..yes it is not a winner like the DC-2 or DC-3, she is confortable
to fly and very dociel, her landing are very much a controled floating down approach. She
has no flaps, I only wish there were more re-paints for her then just American,Swissair,
and the halloween paint job which I have never been able to get it to work. A fictional paint
job like maybe TWA, AIR charter, ect., would be nice. Sometimes old can be wonderful.

Cheers (my Thanks to JBK for this work of art)

FS2004 Argentinean Navy Curtiss Condor Ct32. The last three Condors produced at the Curtiss plant in St. Louis were acquired by the ARA in 1937 and assigned to the 2nd Transport Command. "2-Gt-2" was the passenger version, while the other two were transformed into transport, parachuter and ambulance planes. The three planes left active service in 1947. Textures only for Jens B. Kristensen's Curtiss-Wright AT-32 Condor (AT32_V20.ZIP). Repaint By Damian Radice.

As for Mick's Miskatonik Air Transport paint, I just looked at my download and it is one of those "I left out some common textures to save bandwidth" files. The D/L only has 10 files, while my working texture.HPL folder in the sim has 17 AND there are some differences as shown in the attached screenshot. I can't remember what I did but I think:

  • I renamed the files in the download (eg. lt_fuselage.bmp renamed to lt_fuselage_t.bmp) for each of the 6 skin files,
  • then copied from one of the other texture folders the files named XX_xxxxx_T.bmp
  • AND copied from one of the other texture folders the glass.bmp, prop-blurred.bmp and metallic_L and metallic_t files

The upgraded VC textures in Damian's Argentinian texture are a tremendous plus, too. They really improve an already great model.

There are two versions of Jens' Condor.

My repaints are all for the first version. I somehow missed version 2, and I only became aware of it now when I read in this thread about the different number of texture files and particularly the different file names. (I somehow missed Damian's Argentine Navy paint, too.)

I suppose my paints could all be converted to work with the second version in the manner described by srgalahad. I'll probably do that myself some day, if/when I ever get back into the hobby.

I think the best of my Condor paints is the colorful pre-WW2 U.S. Marines R4C-1:
