I don't know exactly what causes your curiosity.
As far as I have contact with developpers in the team of Foute Man and Willem most (if not all) are people who do all this in their spare free time. I even get the impression that some of them do so much for our community that in fact they have a seccond job. And this is a job for which they are not paid at all. That these heros have skills is not a question, it's a fact! But if I'am wrong dear modders, please correct me!

was curious since many do good work and very telented , next logical step in the curious platform ,,was do they do this as , well a kind of heart thing for many that cant afford or etc...wasnt meant in a secret or underhanded means of depective questions .

Speaking for myself, it's purely a hobby for me - although is has gotten a bit out of hand, considering the amount of time I spend in front of my PC. And since my day job is barely generating enough money, I should perhaps reconsider all this.
Either I should take up a second job (uhm, nooo) or go donation/payware. But for that my skills need to be much better. I am just an amateur at the moment, so no worries for the immediate future.
Besides, it would generate only little profit. If I wanted to make some money with this, I should start designing for FSX, not CFS3. If my CFS3 work should be cost effective (hours work against amount of customers) the price for each airfield or collection of buildings is gonna be sky high.
Anyway, who would pay a few bucks for something that used to be free...?
Still, it would be nice to earn a litle money on the side and help SOH at the same time..

1) I have always had a passion for ww2 history, especially the RAF
2), got into flight sims.

4) didn't like the stock airfields so over the last 3 or 4 years have almost learned to make better ones.

I laud the other members of the ETO for their philanthropic ideals. Personally I rush down to the post box every day as I am expecting a fat cheque from Bill Gate's pension fund for increasing his royalties from sales of CFS3.
Seriously though, despite being a complete dimmo in respect of the g-max wizadry of the other guys, I find it very rewarding that I can contribute through patiently utiisling their models to fill out the sim's global layer. I don't think there is another sim where there is such an open structure.
