The future of Flight Simulation?

It's called "Augmented Reality" by Magic Leap based in New Zealand and still in development but once available imagine how our world will change, no more boxes to be tied to, everything as it is in size and scale. 360' and 3 axis of view..

In this shoot up demonstration it shows the possibility to take Flight Simulation to the next level, You in your cockpit with the 3D world all around you...

Microsoft is also working on this.

Wow can't wait for this to come out.

Windows 10 will be AR ready

So what will flight Simulation look like when Windows 10 comes out?

Blending your hardware, Computer with Augmented Reality Goggles you would wind up with this view.

Hardware basically needed:

Flightsim chair and controllers
Before.jpg

Your computer

Augmented Reality Goggles
AG_Gogles.jpg

Flightsim seat and yoke viewing through goggles with-in simulation

With simulation active and pilot operating with goggles

Looks quite promising, and once it is mass production, I'm sure the price tag will go down. One thing I did read, was the problem withheld eyeglass wearers like myself. MS will have to make the final product comfortable to wear with glasses! NC

And given that most of us simmers are old farts, the likelihood of spectacle dependency is pretty high :biggrin-new:

Auto spelling correct/suggestion is such a pain. I had typed "with eyeglass wearers", and did not see it had put the word "withheld".... So annoying! NC
