You may need to check your virtual memory.:icon_eek:

I have a higher end computer and this has never been a problem before! Also everything else is showing up, that I can tell anyway.

I have this as well.
Mine is not a high end computer but I have had the buildings vanish but as you say everything else is there.
I have had on closing ETO down after flying a message saying "Virtual memory to low". I adjusted this and have not had the message since but after the adjustment that is when I started losing cities!!

I have never received such a message and I am inclined to think that is not whats causing my problem. I'm hoping it's something simple so if anyone has ideas please chime in and help me out.

What city is not there. Can you turn on your labels ?
Look in your globe layer and see if the city is listed.
Other than that you know more about this stuff the most of us.:greenbo:

No I just meant reboot. For me sometimes it makes CFS3 reload the textures that have gotten lost from preload memory.

Did the alpha layer of your scenerysheet01.dds in the assets folder get corrupted? That might make them become "glass houses" that are still there but invisible.

Lewis got your message, haven't a clue! Is it cfs3 or ETO?
An .lso file controls what objects appear on the ground mosaics, have you moved/deleted any of these recently? The stock ones are in the Terrains/lcmosaic zipped folder, the eto ones are in Assets (these override the stock ones).

What's the last thing you did before they went?

Clive thats the hard part to remember (old age). I do remember that I took several scenerysheet01.dds textures and placed these in different folders within the assetts folder. You know how CFS3 will alternate the use of textures of the same name which gives you variety each time you start the game. I also took the stock scenerysheet01.dds out of the scenery.zip folder since I didn't think I needed it and there were the ones I put in the assetts folder. I seem to recall that it had the desired effect and everytime I started the game I had different colored buildings. That is the last thing I recall doing but last night I discovered if I put the stock terrains folder back into my game, the cities magically appear. I am replacing the zip files in that folder one at a time to see which one is the culprit.

It was the scenery.zip file and yes that is good advice not to muck with things I don't understand! :salute:
