The next Fokker.

There aren't many aircrafts which have been repainted as often as Stuart Green's Fokker D.VII.

But I think I have found a version which had not been done yet. It is the Fokker D.VII 4025/18 which flew with Jasta 57.

The paint is nearly dry so I hope to upload it in the next few days.

Cheers,
Huub

BTW the screenies are still "work in progress". The final repaint has less errors :)

That's a sweet looking repaint Huub, is it up yet? :applause:

Our brains must be on parallel paths, last night I pulled out my two Osprey books on D.VII aces and have been contemplating another paint. Sure wish we could get Stuart's aircraft to work in FSX!

Excellent repaint, Huub! Very sharp - I especially like the colors of that scheme in particular - real artistry.

I am looking forward to adding it to the hangar!

Just let us know when the paint's dry. Never can have too many Fokker D.VIIs in the hanger! :ernae:

Thanks for the nice words, I hope to able to upload it tomorrow evening (my time, so probably morning or afternoon in yours). But I will let you know in this thread.

It is a real pity this aircraft doesn't show up properly in FSX, just an other reason to keep FS2004. But "Blutwerks" has a D-VII planned Hopefully it is as easy to paint as Stuart's version and has the same level of details.

Rob Bruce (Robby88) has started work on a full FSX model on October 9th. However when you read it blog, you might understand it can take a while before it is finished.

Actually I have found some very nice profiles by Ray Rimmell and I actually started with the next one already. This one will be an aircraft used by Jasta 59.

Cheers,
Huub

Both texturs from the upper wing finally match in the middle!

The repaint is in the queue. I don't know whether Douglas will be around this evening, but otherwise you will have to wait until tomorrow.

Enjoy,
Huub

Huub, she's beautiful! :applause:

How on Earth did you line up the rib tape on the lower wings? :isadizzy:

If you do not mind, I am saving that for reference to make my own rib tape. :ernae:

I also like the way you blended and shadowed in the wheel and hub, I think a bit of rework on mine like that is in calling.

Screens from GW3.

I don't mind at all Cazzie, I always thought that was the idea behind our hobby; to create things and share them together.

There is something odd with the lower wings but after a lot of trying and errors I finally had the ribbons alligned :banghead: :costumes:.

Bringing this one back to the front page for the moment.

I found more information about this paint Huub.

It was flown by Ltn. Paul Strähle from Jasta 57. He finished the war as Commander of Jasta 57 with 15 confirmed victories.

He survived WW I and served as Major de Reserve in WW II. He worked in the automobile business between the wars and with VW after WW II until retirement. He died in 1985.
