This could very well be the car that breaks the $12.1 million USD record that was set at an auction a few weeks ago when a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa was sold. Why? because this Bugatti 57C belonged to le patron Ettore Bugatti himself, and was one of the last cars designed by his son Jean. It was a gift to Ettore for his 55th birthday from his employees, and apparently it was one of his favourite cars. After Ettore's death in 1947 it received a few small upgrades, but it hardly drove anymore and was never restored.
Not the best looking Bugatti IMHO but it does have a certain charm. If you have some cash to spare, you can try your luck at the Pebble Beach Auction , from 12 until 16 August.
