The ooooooonly way to paint...

Ahhh, the Western guys are still the coolest at Delta...you can tell who they are just by talking to them. I had to ride the jumpseat on a B-777 coming back from London Gatwick one time, and the ex Western Captain let me get an hours worth of being the king (left seat) once we were out over the water.

Nice. I like the "Bud Lite" scheme but also the earlier white "Flying W" (or Winnebago) scheme. I used to fly on Western (and the original Frontier) between Denver and SLC.

Well, must be the californian heritage. :d

Must've been a real adventure on summer day in a small engine 727!

I still wonder how they got their 727s out of places like SAN...

No prob.

Let's see which one I want to do next. Alaska (ugh!*)? PSA (ugh!**)? Delta (ugh!***)? Wien?

* That smiling inuit is really hard to come by. All the internet has is the serious version.
** Those curves of the stripes in the nose area...*Shudders*
*** "Aeroflotski". Just check the flag on the vertical stabilizer. A painter's nightmare.

They did it quite easily. I remember watching them come and go lots of times when I was a pup back in the late 60's. We would go down to the airport and watch the planes. Back then Western and PSA had lots of 727's in and out there.

BTW, your thread title is cool. I so remember watching the ads on TV with that bird laying back against the vertical fin!

Great times, I bet.

*Sigh*

To be honest, I don't particularly like Wally Bird and the ads. The slogan just made for a better eye catcher than a "regular" title.

:icon_lol:I tried, but I'd go with Delta.

The most nightmarish of them all.

Well, in a few weeks or so.
