The Pure merlin engine sounds of the P-51 Warbirdsim, generaltalk
Call me crazy but ok I am not doubting when It said Pure merlin engine sounds on each of the WarbirdSim P51 packages. So considering the P51 is like a drug for any pilot It sounds great. I did alot of listening of the engine from sources, then the Warbird sim one. But I think the recordinds of the merlin engine have been done from a restored P51 like the one here but I could be wrong... Another thing I remember was the soundpack made by turbine studios, I'd say don't completely forget about that one if you have it. So Warbird Sim made a "complete" sound from top to bottom which covered everything well minus click sounds for click-able things...... Turbine studios made a "tweaK" type sound pack because It only has specific files......the the guy who made the freeware P51 "polished" the sounds off.For the person who made the P51 freeware with the sounds I only intended to have an experiment which could not wait any longer, no files have been re-distributed to anyone what so ever.
The video....see in the video this P51's idle sound is just as the one on the Warbird Sim.This one in the video does not have the original cockpit, it's a restored one and it must be a restored engine or something.Once again no disrespect towards Warbird sim's efforts to re-create the sounds, the main idea is to have "the" sound.

Ok so I have done an experiment, I have succesully implanted the sounds from a Freeware P51( hint.. the best one ;p) and then I looked around back to the sources and now I am getting 98% accruate sounds, only thing that would need to be worked on is the canopy open/close and the rugget cold start of the engine. I Know it sounds crazy, Warbird Sim did say authentic pure merlin sounds. The reason I did not want to release the tweaked sounds because of the files. So if Warbird Sim could talk to the guy who has the sounds if somewhat this is right, I mean It's all by ear It's like I have a 6th sense or something
anyway to allow to use his sounds to tweak the ones from Warbird sim's P51 for others to enjoy. I mean the guy who made the freeware P51 I really belive has authentic merlin sounds from a original p51's engine I don't know how and once again this sounds crazy but I never doubted Warbird Sim's efforts to get the sounds of the P51 in the 21st century to remember this warbird.

Anyway, if It's ok with Wozza a.k.a Doug Smith the legend behind these sound I would like to post here my final tweaked version Merlin sounds. All credit still goes to him I just tweaked them more so that we can get even closer to the real thiing !
