The Raptor Has Been Further Sculpted And Refined

Hello again to everyone. Colin has been hard at work on the F-22 model, and now we have the majority of the flight control surfaces, and weapons bay doors. So many jagged edges. Also in the very near future we will have some updates on the F-15, and watch out for our friends over at FSD for the release of the YF-23 at some point in the not so distant future. Now on to the shots. Keep in mind this is still WIP and taken from within the design program.

A shot from above. You can see the flight control surfaces such as ailerons, and leading edge and trailing edge secondary flight controls.
002.jpg

A shot of the bottom of the bird. This is where all the action is at. The landing gear doors, weapons bays doors, and a lot of other smaller access/details.
003.jpg

Shot from the front of the nose to get the full profile.
004.jpg

Shot from the nose of the underside.

A shot of the back.

A shot from the bottom in back.

Can see the exhaust pipes in this shot. Please keep in mind that the vector thrust ducting is not installed on the model yet.

Same view but from the bottom. I hope everyone enjoyed the screens and like always stay tuned here or at our site for more information. Comments and crits are welcome.

While not a fan of this particular aircraft's design, the mesh is looking great. :ernae:

I don't care if the aircraft file is all wrong, I don't care if she doesn't fly, I'm just really glad someone is finally doing an FSX F-22A!!

Same here man. I have waited so long for someone to finally decide to do this beautiful plane. I have seen the Raptor in airshows many times and it is definately something to behold. Can't wait for this plane to be released and I really hope it is high quality work.

Happy I'm not alone :)

I was getting very tired of hearing developers saying "We don't know enough about it's flight capabilities to make a true F-22A"

WHO CARES REALLY?

If you make this thing right, boy is it going to sell!

Well there is a bit of UNCLAS information about the aircraft. Now granted those numbers are probably lower than what the aircraft is truly capable of. A lot can be gained just from studying its wing surface area, drag coefficient, and engine performance. That is a lot of math though that makes me feel like this. I personally haven't seen the documentation yet, but just being a F-22A it speaks for itself. Is one of the top fighter jets in the world, and as such must be one heck of a ride. The model and textures are going to be on par with the F-15C/E. There will be much more to come in the future on it. Looks like this and the F-15 are getting a lot of attention. I am personally chomping at the bit to get behind the yoke of the P-38 myself.
