The Real Racers Are Back.

Hostilities resumed.
Yamaha have the qualifying speed but Honda has the race pace.
Quartararo and Vinales continue to impress, Maquez remains the man to beat and the 'privateer' Pramac Ducatis showed the factory bikes up (again!)
And the KTM factory team have upped their game.

Marquez was not longer the man to beat............ I'm wondering whether he will start with a steel pin in his arm next race.

Cheers,
Huub

Big accident indeed!
Then again, he was coming back from 18th place.
How good was he in his first off the track excursion?
Dirt tracking in gravel at well over 100K+.
:encouragement:
And really, Valentino should have retired before this season.

Well perhaps the choice to add another year wasn't that bad for Valentino, as he ended at the podium today. But I'm reading stories that he most probably will ride next season as well. I don't know whether that's a good choice as he looked pretty worn out in the last laps.

Bad luck for KTM and the other Ducati team.... Funny that the factory team do less good than the B-teams....

Cheers,
Huub

Today an unexpected winner and a man on a 2019 Ducati who became third.

You can't say MotoGP is boring or too predictable. Its amazing to see how well satellite teams are doing compared with the prime factory teams!

Brad Bindner won the first MotoGP race for KTM
Second: Franco Morbidelli
Third: Johann Zarco

Cheers,
Huub

Always held Binder in high regard, really fast in Moto3, Moto2 Champion and now wins his first MotoGP round in his third event!
I took myself off on a celebratory ride on Monday, illegal under Level 4 restrictions but the KTM/R8 would have had the legs of any enforcement vehicles.

The Marquez saga cracked me up: He supposedly broke his Titanium plate 'opening a door', that's his story and he's sticking to it!
Suzy Perry and Neal Hodgeson almost fell out of their chairs, Suzy tried to rationalize it while Neal just said 'He's been out dirt biking' and cracked right up.
Of course he was!

Back to the podium: Aside from Binder, Morbidelli and Zarco were well rewarded with their positions
Next round is in Austria, home of KTM and Red Bull, should be entertaining.
:encouragement:

Agree about BB33, been watching him in the other classes. I'm waiting for the final on the Zarco vs. Pol-E incident.

Just another racing incident, something Pol's career is studded with from Moto3, Moto2 and up.
IIRC when he and Marquez battled out the Moto2 championship Marc won and Pol hit the tarmac with monotonous regularity.
Always Marc's fault of course..........:biggrin-new:

Big accident in Austria!!!!!!
And I mean BIG!
I'll leave it at that so I don't spoil the race for anyone who hasn't seen it but it ended up being a cracker of a race.
:jawdrop:

Without revealing too much (I hope) It seemed Zarco's bike was faster without the rider than with the rider.......

Nice winner again, Its a pity Jack Miller lost his position in the last corner.

Bindner did a nice job again. I think Pol E. has a too large ego and is just to nervous for this game.

Cheers,
Huub

So ironic with the winner announcing on Saturday he is leaving the team which supplied him with such a good bike on Sunday...........:biggrin-new:

Thanks for not spoiling it, pretty sure I woke the people next door in my hotel room as I watched via the app and the incident happened. I have to stay off all social media while at work. Now seeing more of the MV12,VR46 on-boards and slow motion, unbelievable.

Is this all happening because MM93 is out? This season I seem to be yelling/cheering while watching a tab bit more.

This weekend MM announced that he will not return this season. I wonder whether this has to do with the poor performance of the Honda this season. Yamaha didn't look too good this weekend as well.........

Cheers,
Huub
