Hi all, this repaint for Manfred Jahn's beautiful C-47 has been uploaded to the usual places and will become available as soon as it is approved by the administrators.

The aircraft was delivered to the USAAF in January 1944 and received US registration number 43-15288. In 1946 it was taken out of service an put in depot somewhere in Germany. In February 1947 the aircraft was registered as PH-PBA and licensed to His Royal Highness Prince Bernard (Prince Willem-Alexander's grand-father). In May 1960 it was handed over to the Dutch Aviation Authorities, who used it until 1975. In 1975 it was put on display at the Aviodome National Aviation Museum at Schiphol.
In the period 1996 -1998 the aircraft is fully restored in flying conditions and handed over to the Dutch Dakota Association. In 2010 it receives it current vintage KLM colours and is baptised "Prinses Amalia" after the great-granddaughter from the first Dutch owner of this aircraft. The PB in the registration stands for Prince Bernard, who regularly flew this aircraft and was Princess Amalia's great-grandfather.

Enjoy Huub

(As you can see Ferry, the small vintage KLM logo with the text "Painted by KLM Decoshop - Sponsored by Manciewicz" is there as well....... ;) )

Thanks Huub! Manfred's Gooney Bird is one of my favorite tail draggers and the KLM texture will give me an excuse to fly about the Netherlands.
