• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The Three Rights of The Patent Office

This was posted yesterday by Austin,

I'm not an XPlane user.

I support him as I've always thought this man is brilliant!

Please lend support if you can figure out the "Federal Department" link he attached in his post .... I could not myself.

Hey, maybe D.O.G.E. should go in and clear another cesspool!

Not doing anything yet, but this is gettig damned close to politics.

Even though I'm pretty sick, I'm monitoring this and will close it as soon as things get out of hand.

So, please no politics. And for those of us that don't read newspapers, DOGE doesn't exist anymore.

I wish he would go stand a bit more to the left or to the right so i could get a good view of what's all behind him... Is that the basement of his house ??.... My god, he must be doing well with X-Plane. And sure he deserves it although i never liked it. No clue what he's rambling on about in the background. He should've put up some nice groovy music in the background instead. (is that balsa wood there on the table behind him ? Certainly an interesting contraption he's working on ! Ample room to try it out in his garden.. )

Btw, what is DOGE ?... (wasn't that some rich religious guy that ruled over some sort of a holy community or something ?..)

The intent of my post is to share what developers have to go through to put something on the market.

Here in the U.S. that department was created to look at the efficacy of other agencies and streamline them if needed. You are on the right track.

I don't want the Forum moderator to close this thread, so that's it for me on this subject.

I own a patent. It is for a device that measures and records fugitive gas emissions from production equipment like gas compressors and pipeline valves. Cost over ten grand and a year to get the patent. Then we had to file for a dozen other patents to cover small modification that someone could use to get around the patent.

We sold less than a thousand of the devices. Why? Because the device would show a producer, e.g., Chevron, BP, or Shell that they were leaking gas into the atmosphere. Knowing that they would then have to repair the leak and report it to EPA, meant that they could be fined. It was better to just let the gas leak and pretend to not know it. So, until the federal or state government mandated the use of such devices the gas producers were not going to buy any detection devices. I do have this cool piece of paper framed and hanging to my wall, however. :)

Tom, Priller, politics are everywhere.

p.s. I haven't watched the video. so I don't know if what I just wrote is relevant or not.
