A lot of U.S. service personnel around these parts just at the moment after some larger war game stuff a little further north. I think there are 3 combat ships docked at the moment in Brisbane for a bit of R & R.

We went there too, when I was deployed aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) in 2003. We spent 5 days in Sydney first, then went up to Brisbane for another 4 days.
