"Patricia" grew from a tropical storm to a Category 5 in 24 hours - only the second such recorded event of it's kind.
Current peak sustained winds are 170 Kts (200 mph) with gusts to 215 Kts (250 mph). Central pressure is still dropping - last reported at 879Mb and possibly dropping below 875Mb.
Cat. 5 hurricane winds are 157mph+ - in fact these winds are equivalent to an EF4 tornado (EF5 begins at 201 mph)
