DRM (German touringcar championship) mod with five cars: BMW 320 Turbo, BMW M1, Lancia Beta Turbo, Ford Capri and Porsche 935. Bad brakes, big turbo lag and way too much power! :d
The M1 is the heaviest car at 1,170 kilo but it has a mere 760 hp to propel it. The Lancia has less power, but weighs only 800 kilo's...
With all aids off and using realistic clutch and shifting these monsters are a real challenge to drive.

The M1:

The 320i Turbo:

Nice! :applause:

I have the GTL add-on for GTR2 and really enjoy taking their version of the Capri for a spin (literally in many cases).

I love GTR2 but it does not model turbolag as well as rFactor does. The Capri for example is just plain slow below 6,000 rpm, but once you cross that it feels like you've ignited a rocket strapped to the back of the car. It's interesting on the straights but downright dangerous in the corners.

Thanks for the heads-up. An interesting update.

The Porsche is one of my all-time favorite sim vehicles.

Rather short of time due to moving but I think the system will be up and running in the next few days.
Looking forward to wringing the neck of the Lancia!!!:jump:
After I finish more painting and some electrical wiring .......................................:running:

Good luck with moving, Wombat! I assume it has something to do with your brother's situation..?

The Lancia is a good car, not as scary as the BMW is! Just the sound of that thing will frighten your neighbours.. The Porsche looks great but is definitely not my favourite so far. Terminal understeer, bad brakes, only four gears and quite hard to warm up the tires (On the default rFactor Nurburgring at least).

A bit of info on the DRM here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsche_Rennsport_Meisterschaft

In 1977, Group 5 cars were admitted into the series, making the series better supported with Gr.5 cars than the World Championship of Makes they were intended for. These fast and spectacular turbocharged cars with wide fenders and wings had many fans. Especially the Porsche 935 outpowered F1 cars. During common testing sessions at Circuit Paul Ricard, 935 passed them on the long Mistral straight.

:icon_lol:

BTW Here's a nice track for the DRM cars: the Sudschleife; the shorter, lesser known but no less dangerous brother of the famous Nordschleife:

Took the 320 Turbo and the Lancia for a spin today; the Beamer isn't as hard to drive as his bigger brother, but it has a lot less horsepower. (Despite the famous BMW F1 engine in the nose!) The Lancia is a bit like a mini-M1 to drive.

The M1 is still my favourite though! :d

Have to admit that I've set the ABS and TC to 'low' to make 'em slightly easier to drive..
