• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS—GOD BLESS EVERYONE WHO READS THIS AND PASSES IT ON TO EVERYONE IN THEIR ADDRESS BOOKS.

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT.

Subject: Tennessee Football
This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."

However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.
Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

" However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so.. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."

Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!

JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.."

If you are not ashamed, pass this on .

I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on, Are you?

I doubt very much if this was actually stated by a school principal and it will probably appear on Snopes soon. No offense intended to you, Flyer01.

(in before the "daiseycutter" is dropped !!)

It is against the rules of this 'facility' to start threads with religious content so -

Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

- the above is quite correct, yes.

My friend, there are so many specialist forums out there where people with your interests can congregate - why do you insist on bringing it here?

I have passed this along to several of my Christian Friends..
And even a few of my pagan friends too..

I hope others shall do the same..

God Bless all who read this..
(even if you don't agree with it)

Bravo my Friend Flyer 01..
Thanks very much..

Hey All,

Not the kind of post I would normally ever make... but...

My question is simple.

Are the moderators of this website absolutely committed to being absolutely consistent with respect to topics dealing with politics or religion?

If not I would like to know exactly why not?

Which will of course lead to a very fundamental question - What are the rules by which this site is governed?

Whim?

I don't have any problem with rules but I am very frustrated by inconsistent application.

Respectfully...

-Ed-

Thanks for posting this Flyer01. It was good to read.

I am a Christian and proud of it.

Bjoern, go back to your XML!

EasyEd,

I am only one Mod here, and my voice is one of many. Its a fine line. This is a religious post, and religion and politics do usually cause a 'war' in here and that is sad. I am sure this will get locked soon.

There was a time I remember when we could talk like adults on things in here. Then it became a bit rough.

I should also mention that I am not a Mod for this room. I am off limits here and will probably be smacked for posting what I did. I am proud to be a Jesus freak though..

EasyEd~ As Lionheart indicated above, when it comes to religion and politics, we walk a fine line. We always want to believe that maybe, just maybe, we could have a healthy conversation around either topics? However, as it has been proven many times in the past, we can't. Those conversations, more times than not, deteriorate and cause dissension amongst members.
So we have learned to play it safe, rather than be sorry.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks!
