• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

In early April of this year, 21 year old US marine Cpl. JB Kerns was severely injured by an IED while serving his third tour in Afghanistan. He lost both legs and his right arm, along with parts of some of his left fingers. On Sunday, 25 September, after five months of physical therapy, that brave young man finally came home! I'm proud has hell to say that I was part of that celebration, and that I had the honor of shaking his hand. Two local TV stations did stories for the local news:

WGHP Fox 8
WXII NBC 12

But if you really want to see what it looked like, just watch!

By the way, I cross under the bridge at 1:15 in the video - I'm wearing a black vest over a yellow shirt.

What a wonderful outpouring of love and support, and oh how different from how those of use who served in the late 60's were "welcomed home..."

Yea I was asked How many babies I killed, and spit on when I came home..
I am Very grateful Our vets now are welcomed home properly..
Thank God for those who have served our Nation..

Same goes for you too HH! In my view, any person that is willing to risk their safety to protect my life or my way of life deserves "Hero" status. This includes LEO and First Responders too!
