Ok,
In the past few weeks I've added a lot of new scenery to the Scenery Library, to include all of the Lago Geo Series titles, Glacier Bay and others. Last night I went in to add a few others and I do this with the FSNav Data Base Configurator so that I don't have to load FS9 make the additions and corrections and then close FS9 and then go back in again to use it. I can make thos e additions from outside the sim and load just once. Well more than halfway through the compiling process, it locked up, so I closed it out and just went in to fly. All seemed well. Now tonight when loading FS9 I got an error message that one of the scenery files couldn't be located and it was one I had added a long time ago.

I go into the Scenery Library and everything I had loaded back at least two weeks was gone including a very complex set of Glacier Bay scenery files needed for a hop list I'm in the middle of over at the WSP Server. What happened????

The only other thing I did prior to loading up tonight was to run the "Airport Chart" database build because I hadn't updated that in quite some time. As far as I know, all that does is search for loaded airports so that they are available via the chart in the sim.

I have no idea why addon info going back two weeks would have been wiped clean like that. . .what a friggin' pain in the butt to reload all of that in the proper sequence (since I dumped all of the docs after it was loaded and running correctly). Geeze, just when you think you have a grasp on the inner workings it jumps up and shows you who's really in charge.:banghead:

If all the folders are where they are supposed to be, then you could have a corrupt Scenery.cfg file.

There's a freeware program called Scenery Align that can help. Otherwise, examine it with a text editor and make sure each entry is correctly numbered.

I think WarHorse is right.

I almost think its wise to backup the Scenery.cfg file as often or more as the FS config file. This has happened to me twice now recently. (locked up, things wouldnt work, and got a memory leak that increased 1,000 megs each full second which crashed the sim after about 10 min's).
