Was just wondering if anyone here has ever seen the real one fly and what you thought of the Griz?

I don't think anyone here ever saw the real Griz fly. Heck, Helldiver, our resident WW2 Helldiver veteran, never even heard of the plane..and he was alive and young during WW2 when the Griz was being developed..and unfortunately, forgotten. Only a couple prototypes were built..none exist today. This plane, as Milton and Team have developed, is a reincarnation of a plane that history forgot. I had never heard of the Grizzly until someone posted a pic in a thread on unusual aircraft.

Ditto here. The "one offs" are what keep " flightsimming" alive. I sure would have like to have seen a U-boat captain's face when a Grizzly showed up !!!!!!

Not me! If I were close enough to see the U-Boat captain's face, that would mean that I would be on the sub with him....and I would not want to be on any sub when the Griz came zooming and booming.

Thanks guys, sad that it's operational life was never really put to the test. Without a doubt it packed quite a punch.

when you look at history a LOT of aircraft have been scrubbed due to political reasoning... the UK's prime Example Being TSR.1, Canadas being the Avro Arrow, US Has had a lot... the Grizzly, Valkyrie are to name but a couple theres many more when you get researching...:jump:

I think you mean TSR.2 ;) .

The TSR.1 is better known as the 'Canberra' which had a very successful life. The TSR.2 was supposed to be the Canberra's replacement.

whoops yeah typo there, fingers moving too quick again....

The Griz is quick no doubt about it. As for those fingers, were they moving so quickly because they were about to reach out for a glass of :icon_lol: Scotland's Finest Malt?

Britain's first TSR.2 was the venerable old Fairey Swordfish, except TSR in that case stood for Torpedo, Spotter and Reconnaissance, whereas the TSR.2 of the 60's stood for Tactical Strike and Reconnaissance
