There has been a lot going on...I recently enlisted a new tester that has been quite helpful in pointing out things, and now thanks to Marlin the roll trim knob is fully functional :d

I have yet again decided to re-visit the polished aluminum version. I have been less than impressed with what I have been able to get so far, as the way FSX renders reflections does not work well with a flat surface. About 2 months ago I made my own environment map to try to fix that issue, and had reasonable results. Now I have decided to pursue this effect to the point of finished textures, as I have to include the current version of our plane in the final release :)

Going into the weekend this is where I am at...

Wow, excellent, is it payware or freeware? One thing I ask it please don't make a very reflective VC canopy glass. I can't stand huge reflections, especially at night.

Ryan,

It will be payware, but my intention is to price it very reasonably. ;)
I have invested too much time in it now to give it away...I started playing with this over 10 years ago!

As far as reflections go...I am leaning toward no reflections, although I have many pics from the real thing that have a strong amount of reflection!

What a beautiful machine it is and I guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed!

The gauges are some of the best out there, super smooth and great on frames.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Specular and bump? Spec is excellent for the polished metal. See my suggestions in the paintshop threads. What I did for gold, I can do for silver too.

This looks like one for the trick paint jobs...

Chris, I do use specular & bump maps. I discovered a lot about using specular maps when I looked at the textures from the bare aluminum DC-3! I also have read your posts regarding the subject...great stuff there! Right now I'm working on the specular colors for the wings, and hopefully I will have more to show by the end of the weekend.
