I haven't seen here at all if anyone has tried this but I loaded up one of my fav. FS9 biplanes...

All seems fine except for instruments. It does like to eat FPS though, I'm guessing cause of the model type. I'm gonna try my first panel config tommorow to get FSX gauges working in it.

Oh and I love all the airport upgrades done in PNW, this one is S43.....love it.

It's possible that swapping out some gauges may give you some increase in fps. You're right about the model as well, some port over much better than others and having the mdl output for FS9 rather than FSX will definitely have an effect.

Good luck with the panel mods. . .I enjoy doing those as well.:salute:

I'm hoping that the stock Extra300 gauges will work for me.
Are you using FSPanel Studio? Great program for doing this sort of thing. Every once in a while, I'll go through my gauges folder and delete any of the old "98 gauges, so I don't load one into a panel mod I'm doing by mistake. Invariably, porting over earlier FS9 models will bring those gauges along with it. Not always, but you do find a lot of them in some aircraft.

The Extra300 should work great.:salute:

No, I was going to just try and do a config edit. My plans for today got hosed but do you think just doing a panel config edit will work or should I invest in the FSpanel?

If this is the only panel you plan to change, I wouldn't invest, but for someone who has plans to do this to additional aircraft, it'll pay big dividends just in the time and frustration saved by actually seeing what you change as you do it. It's a great program.:salute:

I'm still trying to import that gorgeous Plane Design Spitfire XVI into FSX for FS9, it is very difficult to the gauges working on that model
A developer from Plane Design said here a few months ago that he'd try to fix it - no responce yet though...
