Has anybody got a good copy of the gauge CAB file for Tim Conrad's OV-10A_v2? I just downloaded the Bronco from FlightSim.com ( ov10a_v2.zip ) but I keep getting a copy error message when I try to extract it.

Cheers,

N.

Oh, and BTW here's a neat vid of a Bronco putting on a show at the Courcheval altiport:

Thanks, Huub. That is the right file, but for some reason I still can't extract it properly. I even tried copying it directly out of the file then pasting it onto my desktop but no joy. All I get is a message saying "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file." Then it goes on to give the error code "Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error".

Thanks anyways,

N.

You 're talking about ov-10a.cab?
Why extracting?
As a cab-file, it's intended to be copied as is into the gauges folder!

Cheers,
Markus.

Hi Markus;

I'm not extracting the contents of the cab file and then adding them. In Windows 7 after I download an aircraft file I extract everything into a temp folder on my desktop and then add the appropriate files to the appropriate folders in my main FS2004 folder (eg., effects files to the Effects folder, gauges to Gauges, etc.) I never open cab files and always add them as is to my gauges folder. This is the first time I've ever encountered a problem with a cab file; normally I can add them to the Gauges folder just fine, but this one won't even let me take a copy from the compressed file and paste it to my desktop, let alone the Gauges folder.

Neil,
Have you tried rebooting your 'puter? While I've tons less problems with Win7, I have had to do an occasional reboot. Not just a restart, but a full shutdown and start. 9 times out of ten, this works. I was getting some strange errors on common items a while ago, the reboot fixed them.

Also, make sure your Windows update is up to date.

Just a suggestion.

edit= I just downloaded the D model with both cabs from Hubbs link and was able to extract the cabs with no problem, so it's on your end, Neil.

N. Could it be that because you have your computer's Administrative security level set too high which may prevent the allowance of certain programs to execute the opening of them?

A high admin security level set on my new computer prevented Active camera from working. Anticyclone support told me about that little trick. Set the admin security level to the lowest and it allowed the program to execute.

To change that level I had to go to Start\System and Security\Change user account control settings, then move the slider to the lowest position. I'm using Windows 7

Hope this may help you and possibly others out.

Wow, I didn't remember the FS9 Bronco virtual cockpit from Piglet like this.
Wasn't it more detailled than that ?

Also, take a look directly into the panel.cfg of the plane, especially to the [VCockcpit*] sections, to see the exact name of the gauges that are used in the VC. Perhaps the plane uses some gauges from another plane that is missing from your hangar ?
