Tinkering

Like most everyone else I like to tinker with things in CFS2.For instance my stock Betty carries 16x60kg bombs and a mixture of 60kg and 30kg bombs that total 22 and they all drop. Most of the planes I use have dp's for specific jobs, like some of my Kates are setup for level bombing while others are used for glide bombing.I still find it fun to try something and see if it works the way I want it to.

I also like playing around with the DCG campaigns.I've done a few from scratch through the years.Right now I've been redoing the N.G. ones and added Milne Bay and some new Task Forces.Using Beaufighters you do alot of ship attacks which can be pretty intense when attacking a cruiser & destroyer force ( Usio ships of course ) and it's not easy when you attack the supply convoy either.

I've also been flying the Milne Bay Campaign which I never had time to fly before.I've also been replace some of the planes from it with the newer versions.

Going through my old CD's I found alot of things I forgot about. My old Pearl What If would go well with the PHP2 scenery when it's finished,I just have to update a few things. My old Solomons DCG from about 2002 I'll be testing to see how it works. The Japan45 has been all redone with some newer scenery by Xavier same with Burma42 which makes them more frame friendly.None of this all that difficult.

I always liked to use the new ships, planes or scenery in old campaigns as they can add alot and sometimes makes it more frame friendly ( except the Usio ships,LOL ).They can also become more intense. Now the old campaigns I update are for my own personal use so won't be uploaded.

I'm sure alot of people do the samething but just don't mention it.

Your right there mate.Im always updating and tweaking missions that I created years ago,to get a better appearance for an air field or more detailed plane.
My Milne bay has been left on the shelf for some time now,but your comments have prompted me to go back and have another look.
Im currently working on the AVG,but like your self these are only for my own use. This is mainly due to the amount of add ons I use in each of my installs[It would take a read me file 20 pages long to list them all for downloading]
I guess thats why we are still flying this old girl after all these years.:ernae:

Matter of fact, I've just been working on personalizing your Marianas DCG campaign with some of the ships I've decided to use. Next I plan to add another USN task force and another IJN task force including the carrierTaiho.

Then I plan to build another campaign covering a couple of the Central Pacific raids, including Truk.

Then I plan to do some paring down on my Leyte campaign, and I'll have all the major carrier battles covered except Midway.

I think CFS2 would be gathering dust in a drawer, if it were not for all the great work you designers (right term?) have done, and continue to do. For guys like me, who think we have really achieved something when we install one of your addons, thank you very much. Keep on tinkering!!

Actually I didn't do much on that DCG campaign I just showed Tacloban how to setup a Task Force.

My main point in this thread is if you don't try somethings how will you learn things about the sim?
