Boomer2212,
1. "Is there a way to pay someone to get all this installed and going??? LOL"
Certainly not. You can do it all yourself. There is plenty of help right here.
2. "Do I put these files in with CFS3 or do I make new folders for them????"
No, you don't. MAW, ETO, and PTO are stand-alone add-on theaters. They copy what they need from your CFS3 vanilla install and create a new game folder themselves, then they install the new files needed.
3. "When I download an aircraft, mission or ship do I add these to CFS3 in My Documents or do I go to it through Programs??"
The correct default install path is C:\Programs Files\Microsoft games\Combat Flight Simulator 3.
4. "Can someone tell me where to find CFS3.exe? On the Windows7 fix it says to move it to desktop to start off with.I tried what I thought was it but after going through all the steps it turned out to not be it!!"
For Vista and Windows 7, you have to do this first:
For seeing hidden files and folders, and revealing file-name extentions in Vista: Open a folder, say My Documents. At top left click on Organize and then Folder and Search Options. Click on View and you will find both selections in the list, then look for “Hidden files and folders”. Make sure “Show hidden files and folders” is checked. While you’re here, also make sure that “Hide extensions for known file types” is unchecked. YOu will need to make sure this is done so that you see the file extensions in the file names, like cfs3.exe. You see, *.exe is the extension.
The cfs3.exe is in this location: C:\Programs Files\Microsoft games\Combat Flight Simulator 3.
The best thing to do is to start small and work your way up to the more complex things.
When you download anything, it will usually come in a *.zip file. This has to be unzipped (extracted) first, right after downloading. DO NOT UNZIP it directly into your game. Choose another location on your computer. I always download to MY Documents. Then I put the zip file into a new folder I madde there for the zip. Then I go into the new folder and unzip the zip file in that folder.
When you download aircraft, there will usually be an aircraft folder. It will often say aircraft on it, or have the name of the plane. Look it over thoroughly. There may also be pylons, weapons, and/or guns folders in it, as well.
When installing these items remember to cut from where you downloaded them to where they are to go.
This is where you're going to put these things in CFS3: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3. This folder will contain a lot of folders and individual files. Look for the aircraft, weapons, pylons and guns folders. They're all right there.
1. All aircraft go into the aircraft folder.
2. All weapons go into the weapons folder.
3. All guns go into the guns folder.
4. All pylons go into the pylons folder.
These can be a big help:
