To Our Talented Designers: Please Create Eastleigh AP 1936 Home Of The Spitfire

I have spent days searching for a photograph of Eastleigh AP as it looked on the day the prototype Spitfire flew for the first time in the afternoon of March 1936...then I found it!!! It is a painting of Eastleigh Airport with the prototype Spitfire roaring over the field with Mutt Summers at the controls..I have a copy of it and will be more then happy to E-mail it to any of our most talented scenery designers to help them work with it, it is a very detailed art work of Eastleigh AP where the Vickers Airplane Company designed, built, and flew the prototype Spitfire. Eastleigh AP is now South Hampton AP of which there are I think maybe two FS8 creations of it...but Eastleigh AP is the birthplace of a legend. I do hope someone will consider creating this wonderful piece of history..please feel free to E-mail me and I will send the copy of the Eastleigh painting of 1936. Thank you all for any consideration in the future.

Cheers

Southampton (Eastleigh) airport

Yes, it would be good to see a historical scenery of Eastleigh airport in FS9 and/or FSX.
I have a particular interest in this as I grew up from the age of 4 literally within spitting distance of the airport gates and spent a good deal of my boyhood watching the planes through the perimeter fence, and from my bedroom window, my 91 year old Mum still lives there. I have vivid memories of the old hangars and the grass field but no photographs.
There is a Spitfire Museum in Southampton and their archives have extensive photos and maps. I know they have helped other FS designers with projects so anyone thinking of designing Eastleigh scenery should contact them.
The web site is worth a look by anyone interested in the Spitfire.

On a point of accuracy, The Spitfire prototype was designed and built by Vickers Supermarine Ltd at their waterfront Woolston works near the town centre of Southampton. It made it's maiden flight from Eastleigh airport but no Spits were ever built there. When war was declared in 1939 Spitfire production was dispersed to many sites all over England.

yeah i live close to RAF/DCAE Cosford one of the Major aircraft production plants, that and Castle Bromwich (Castle Brom about 15mins down the road),
Castle brom sadly now is a Jaguar factory, and the old runway is under the motorway... but the sites got an everlasting memorial, which, i consider to be one of the finest monuments of the 20th century....

there is still some evidence on the exterior of the Jaguar plant that it saw wartime use, the odd patch of green paint.... heres how Castle brom looked back then....
