Tom Sanford SHG-Unterseeboot question

I've been using the the Tom Sanford SHG-Unterseeboots (Type VII/C U Boats) for my Coastal Command campaign and I've noticed something odd. The DP file(s) for these U Boats includes (1) 20mm flak cannon which is correct but it also includes (1) 88mm deck gun. The 88mm deck gun is also correct as far as armament but it also fires at my AC when I attack the sub. I've done a little research on this and realized that the 88mm deck gun on the Type VII/C sub was not used as an AA gun for defense. Since the U Boats will not attack other ships in the mission(s), I've been thinking of removing the 88mm deck gun from the DP file. But before I do, I wondered if anyone else had any thoughts or info on this.
