Torpedo Bombing

Can anybody advise if both level_bomber and tactical_bomber types will perform torpedo attacks?

Yes, indeed, even the fighter-bomber category can do so when it has the loadout. Some bombers are less agile and crash when making the final tight low level turn for the final approach. I try to overcome this by making the final turn some 4Nm out at about 2500 feet. Then I select ships and press A. Two aircraft will be assigned this way. Some wingmen will still fail to attack directly and insist 9n flying over the convoy and make a tight low level turn. But at least a few more survive with my technique
