• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

For some reason my touch down, dirt, and water spray on my aircraft stoped working a while back. Anyone got any suggestions?

A addon killed the textures probably...It happens..

Youi probably need to get the FX files and add them back in...
 
Textures

Some add-ons either overwrite textures or just delete them...Don't know why but it has happened to me...You need to replace one or all of the following default FSX textures;

FX_1.bmp
FX_2.bmp
FX_3.bmp
FX_5.bmp

You should be able to find them on one of the install disks...

Yep missing FX_1.bmp for sure and the others may not be correct. Nice!

Can't get them from the install Dvd. Are FS9 the same? If not where would I pick them up. Sears, or what?

They are the same on FS9...If you still can't get them, PM me with your email and I will send them to you...

Thanks Steve. I had it on a backup copy of the fsx effects folder on another computer. Thank God for Backing up! It was the FX_1.bmp file that does the touch down. thanks again!

Good!

Glad you got it...I keep those files in a separate folder on my HD as they have been erased so many times...I don't know why a developer would intentionally erase a default FSX file...Those files also effect some smoke effects, like from chimneys, etc...
