Track IR & Windows 7

Dear pilots,

does anyone has some experiences with TrackIR working on CFS3 or OFF in Windows 7 ?

Everything is fine, got the newest drivers and TrackIR is working fine in FSX, BlackShark, etc. on Win7

But it wont work in OFF using Win7. I just wonder, if only I have a problem (and have to fix it) or if generally it wont work in Windows 7.

Thx for your help!

It was never tested with Windows 7, Phase 3 will work with Vista

Phase 2 was written with XP in mind :ernae:

I know that it is only tested with Vista - what I am looking for is a fellow in this forum, who has experiences with OFF and Win7 (and if TrackIR works or not).

Running P3 right now on XP and it looks great - but Win7 has a big frame improvement.

I doubt you'll find anyone here who's managed to get TrackIR working with the new OS. I'm absolutely thrilled to bits to hear you're finding a tangible performance improvement in terms of FPS though. Just how much of an increase are we talking about here???? Real substantial, or just so-so?

And thanks for taking the time to point it out......extremely valuable bit of info indeed!!

Cheers,

Parky

I sticked to XP for a long time, nearly ignoring Vista... But since I us a Radeon 4870X2 (rest: E8600 @ 4,5GHz, 4Gig RAM, Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R) I am looking for some improvement using crossfire. Works fine in XP, but works better in Win7 (& Vista as different forums are telling).

E.g. I can fly BlackShark now in windowed mode, so i can use the camera-display of the KA-50 in my external 8´-Screen (multi-monitors...). In XP I had a massive loss of performance when flying windowed, not in Win7.

For the rest of the "fullscreen" games i would guess a gain of performance between 5 & 10 % while using Win7 instead of XP - not much, but still enough to seek the challenge running everything with Win7 :jump:

So once more - is anyone with TrackIR & Win7 out there...?

Don't know if you're aware, so here goes:

The ONLY reason Trackir works with VISTA, is because one of the OFF Developer's . . Rex Hannover . . I believe. Figured it out .. and gave the info to Natural Point

Otherwise the boys at Natural Point would still be holding their daily circle-jerk and counting their profits

Maybe your´re right - and to be honest, being able to play P3 with XP, Win7 isn´t a real problem to me.

But my community is in a real Win7-hype - really nice going Windows since a long long time. Maybe some day some smart guy will fix it (if everyone has the same problem like me....)

Perhaps it is worth emphasizing that OFF3 MUST have the latest trackir drivers to work in Vista.
So it may be so for it to work in Win7.
Worth a try

As I mentioned everything up to date - 4.1.036 is the latest available driver, still not working in Win7. But thx anyway!
