Tracking by Avangate - any use?

I have just used the tracking service re my order, about which I had received an e mail on 16 january saying my order had been shipped.

this tracking result said my order had been delivered.
if they mean it has been delivered to my address, then they are wrong.
If it is the terminology they used when delivering via download, then what is the point of a "tracking procedure " for downloads?
I expected to see something like a date it arrived in UK and so on.
So, should I be worried as several UK orders have arrived some days ago now.?
 
The USPS tracking system is how they say in gay Paris.......worthless. "Delivered", from my experience means it has been shipped. Bet you a beer it shows up either today or tomorrow.

There's a part about that in the FAQ, yep ignore it send an email to support@avangate.com and ask for a tracking # you can use on USPS web. The Avangate message was to be fixed, should be now, but maybe isn't working yet.

Still no delivery! Ordered on Jan 15th; Confirmed as shipped Jan 16th.

Where's it being despatched from? Zimbabwe? Afghanistan? John o' Groats by bicycle. Mars? No, on second thoughts, if it had been despatched from any of these, it would have probably reached me by now!
 
well, I did advise to threaten the Postman with a dog guys!...got mine 2 days later!

Its true. The tracking system sucks hard. I got the game on monday. In the morning of that day I checked the status at USPS web site and had no news. So I said to myself "No OFF today :censored:". And when I got back home at 3pm I found the game resting on the PC desk :d.

Damn that neighbor of your's!! She's a lying COW!! It wasn't me that intercepted the postman at the end of your driveway. No Sir!! Was somebody else that drives a liquid silver Celica GT that just happens to be identical to mine.

Wow, I thought - It's here.

half an hour later, postman calls with a parcel - ...... from my daughter.!
Dad's got a jumper for his birthday!

I´m only a 50 minute car ride away from the avangate HQ in the Netherlands and seriously considering to drive over there and kick some asses!
 
It sounds to me as if some of those lovely rockets that you can load onto our aircraft need shooting in the direction of Avangate and whatever postal/courier service they use. I was lucky to get my OFF3 in France after nearly 2 weeks, some are still waiting.
 
One can only assume Avangate don't want repeat business and will go bust rather sooner than later. There's no excuse for this kind of shoddy performance.
 
Gentlemen,

Once Avangate ships the order to the local mail depot, it's completely out of their hands. They....like you, are relying on the postal service and customs services in whichever jurisdictions the package must pass through.

If you wanna' pay an extra 30 bucks or so for UPS or some private courier service, I'm sure you could have it delivered within 48 hours.

Btw Dave.......any particular brand you prefer ???:ernae:

I ordered a watch just after xmas, it got to me three days after I'd ordered it, from Malaysia.

Of course there are always occasions when a package is delayed, but these DVDs from Avangate appear to be following a rule rather than an exception. Ten days seems to be the average, and that's pretty abysmal. I've seen fourteen days mentioned more than once.

They wouldn't get my business again, period.

Amen to that! I ordered a game for my PS3 from Canada at the 18th and it arrived at my doorstep at 22nd.

Mine neither!
Imho it was a bad choice to put Avangate in charge for distribution and publishing.

I don't think the OFF chaps would have chosen them if they'd known how shoddy they are. No doubt the Avangate hacks trotted out the usual marketing BS and were taken at face value. "Superior service, excellent reputation, reputable performance, industry-leading yada yada yada."

Are they also responsible for producing the DVDs? If so that's abysmal delivery times of russian-roulette disc-functionality.

I just hope when my DVD is arriving, sometimes around Christmas i presume, it´s at least working.
 
Perhaps with all this negativity, bad karma will come into play and it won't arrive at all.

Negativity is a subjective attitude, significantly tardy delivery is an objective reality. One not subject to any beneficial effect by a subjectively optimistic attitude.

Them losing repeat custom might help to focus their minds though, so that future customers aren't subjected to the same inexcuseable delay.
