I have noticed a number of people using TrackIR and am looking for user opinions. I have been away from FS's for a few years.
Just looking for opinions, pros and cons. TIA Rocky

Besides a good joystick, IMO Trackir is the second most important piece of hardware (besides the computer itself) any flight simmer needs. That is, unless you're one of the few that get motion sickness or vertigo. I hadn't used Trackir up until about a year ago and now I can't imagine simming without it. It's also really cool for driving sims and FPSs.

Get it, you won't regret it!

CJ

PS: There's a $10 discount somewhere here at SimOuthouse for the purchase of Trackir.

thirded.

unless you're one of the few who get motion sick using it (as CJ mentioned) then I'd say sell your proverbial grandmother to fund the purchase :costumes: you won't regret it.

You wont regret it! I`ve been using TIR4 Pro for quite some time now, and now I wont play a sim without it..

After it arrives, and you follow the provided instructions for installation. You'll have NO problem, EXCEPT it greatly disslikes strong lights, especially sun light. Bit of a Vampyre in that respect.

Realism: It takes a couple of days to get used too it.

If you're prone to airsickness you'll find out quick

Suggest you keep a pail nearby till you know for sure

Problem you'll run into ........CFS2, and any flying game that doesn't support Trackir, will gather dust :kilroy:

Whilst your waiting for the chance to get a visit from the Postman.

You might check-out the STICKY OFF Tips and cheats #9

free track

Well if you are waiting for the cash to get trackir then check out free track that is what I am using for now and it works fine in OFF p2 when ran in conjunction with tir_attack. I think I spent like $20 on parts and the 9v battery was the most exspensive item. may cost a few more bucks if you don't have a soldering iron but those are cheap too. The rig I made can be seen here:

They are the 4 pics at the bottom. I may go back and work on the cachya stuff again as I think it uses less cpu.

Cachya, looks too good to be true?

Vortex, have you had it running and with what sims?

If it will run with OFF i'll give it a go as it looks marginally less challenging to people like me than Free Track, I can't see electricity so cannot comprehend it:redf:

There were a lot more wires in Free Track.

For those who have got the freeware track systems to work, are they a full substitution for Track IR?
