traffic tools probelm with "touch and go"

Hi, I have been trying to install some tounch and go (TNG) in smaller airports (w/ parking) using Lee Swordy's TTools.

I am seeing the aircraft, but they just stay put on the apron at all times. I have given a start time of 07:00:00 (7 am, right?) and end time of (12:00:00) or 12 pm in the FlightPlan.txt file and compiled it and then found that the end time got changed to 07:15:00. This has happenned several times.

I make sure to have 2 legs for TNGs involving the same airport.

Any solutions?

Thanks,
Sid

Here is an example of a flight that works. You do not need TNG in both legs but you can. The times in the flight plan are GMT.

AC#XXX,N1234,1%,1HR,VFR,00:01:00,TNG00:26:00,017,F,0000,XXXX,00:30:00,00:55:00,015,F,0000,XXXX

Yep. GMT is your times to go with, and you can get that in FS as it has a GMT display along with real time.

The other thing is that the plane must have enough time to make it to the destination and have enough time for go arounds. Planes will eat up a lot of time in traffic patterns and AI will usually do go arounds if there are several planes coming in at once. Wozza taught me about that. Somehow I think there is a fix for having more then one come in at once for landing.

Also, if you do not have 'all' runways and taxiways linked via AFCAD, then the airport will not work with AI traffic.

To test this, try a diff airport that is near by and see if it takes of for that airport? If it works, then you are missing something on your present airport choices. Remember the runway has a link of track in it also that you need to have for AI to work.

There's a program called AIsmooth that purports to address this issue. I haven't sat there and studied the AI traffic long enough to say that it definitely works, but it seems to, from what little I've seen. You can get it at AvSim:

A note about yRoute: I use it and love it, but it has one annoying glitch that's easy to work around. It doesn't like weekly flights, and it tends to mess up the day of the week that they depart and arrive on. You specify the days, and yRoute puts in different days, apparently selected at random. After I set up a weekly flight, which I often do if I want to have a plane always parked at a particular airport, I have to go into the flight plan file manually and edit the day of the week on the departure and arrival times. Annoying, but not a big deal.
