I thought I'd post something I discovered this morning while working with TTools to get my cousin's Cessna 170 to fly out of his private airstrip that I now have completed thanks to Matt and his new hanger.

Anyway, what I found was that in order for TTools to work, you must have a regular AFCAD file in your addon scenry/scenery folder. I had used ADE to create the scenry and the AI flight was not showing. I opened the ADE file in AFCAD and then saved it as a regular AFCAD file and the airplane now shows up and does what I programed it to do.:running:

That's strange, as ADE does the same thing that AFCAD does, just with a lot more features. It's possible that one of those newer features had an error in it, and by saving it with afcad it eliminated the error as it doesn't include that feature. When you created the ADE file, did you run the fault finder before saving it? Just a thought, as I use ADE all the time, and my AI work just fine with those files.

Yes, I ran "fault finder." Just goes to show you that sometimes I really believe there is a ghost in FS9 that just likes to aggravate those of us who use it.
Now, I'm trying to figure out why the stupid plane just taxis onto the runway and just sits there until it times out. I simply copied a flight plan that works fine at another airport and changed the Airport Designator. Like I stated, it cranks up on time, taxis on time, but, then just turns around on the runway in the direction it is supposed to take-off and just sits there. I've ran the fault finder using both AFCAD and ADE with no faults showing. Go figure....What I plan to do right now is quit messing with this airstrip and go fire-up my other computer and have some fun with the stuff that's working fine. This problem can wait awhile.

Romeo-Delta: shoot me the afcad.

I'll take a quick coffee break and give it a once over.

I do stress Afcad my friend as I smply don't have time right mow for ADE, as you know. :salute:

Thanks guys but, I got that baby all fixed. Couldn't for the life of me tell you exactly what I did to fix it as I messed with everything from the scenery file to the AFCAD file. Heck! all I know is it now works just great. If I time my approach just right I can land, taxi up to the hanger, turn off the runway, and then just sit there and watch the Cessna 170 come back from a short VFR flight. I'm using Alpha Sim's freeware Cessna 170. Great airfile as it makes a very nice approach and landing.

When everything comes together like this farm strip, it's just a beautiful thing to watch. Long Live FS9....:applause:
