• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

There seems to be a trivial problem with the "By rank" formation for me :isadizzy:.
In my flight there is me (2nd lt.), 2 Lieutenants, and one Captain. Normally, the Captain should lead the flight. But he doesnt. Instead, the Lieutenant (my wingman) is the leader. (I can see that from the labels. Great feature btw :)).

And besides that, I would like to throw an idea I had yesterday. All games by big companies, before they release the main game, they release a small free demo version as well. I dont know if the devs have thought of that but if it is possible, you should do it. I dont know how big it is gonna be in MBs but it is quite important to host a demo of OFF P3 in the main site. Maybe a quick combat dogfight, or even a complete campaign mission which will surely include a big furball. Think about that. If someone likes the demo, he will buy the game for sure :kilroy:. Just thinking aloud here.

A demo wouldn't really be possible without having CFS3 installed and Microsoft sure as hell aint going to give that away for nowt.
I suppose the Phase 1 and 2 releases were as close to being demos as you are going to get..
 
I am more talking about a downloadable small file which is gonna be the demo of P3. It is surely more easy to D/L a small file than waiting the postman to bring you P2.
 
You mean maybe hosting a smaller version of P2 as a demo?
Also, it wasn't uncommon (among British squadrons) to have flights led by pilots of lesser rank but greater experience. Cecil Lewis (I believe) and Sholto Douglas both describe this.
 
Free Demo

A free demo might turn potential 'casual' sales away due to it's complexity. If I wasn't such a WWI 'nut' I would prolly not like it. I've 'sampled' other sims for free and didn't bite. However, I've bought some sims because there was no other option. I don't fly them but at least the developers, et al, got their 'sale' and there's nothing wrong with that. I am of the mentality: 'don't give yourself away'. Just my $0.02
