trouble starting FSX

im at a loss, the past two days, when i try to start FSX,it get to the splash screen, and then stalls, and i get the message that says "program not responding",one time i waited about 45 minutes and it started, then when i went to select an aircraft in free flight,it got stuck on "program not responding" again.i just let it "work" and i went to my folks for lunch, that was at 11am..i came back to the RV around 2:30pm and it was still in the "program not responding" situation, and then just closed itself.

ive tried by starting just from the FSX.exe..from REX essential plus overdrive and from the sweet FX program configurator...no luck..

im using vista home..32 bit

One way is to undo whatever you last installed. You can also download a freeware program monitor to see what file is causing the issue. Lastly, make a copy of your current fsx.cfg file, then restart FSX.

Daveroo, before you trash your cfg file, you may have to anyway, but find the line that reads SITUATION=. Delete everything to the right of the "=" sign and start FSX. It should work and you don't have to okay all your gauges and modules all over again.

Hope this helps you out, it's saved me a lot of grief over the years.
