Trying my hand at repainting the Carenado 206.

I'm trying to do a repaint of a fictional livery for the Carenado 206. I am using the Gimp for starters. I seem to have repainted correctly but when showing up in the fsx some components seem shadowed. You can see this on the rudder. In the aircraft select dialog, it is very shadowy. Also the windows appear opaque, though I have no idea why. Also it doesn't appear to be calling up the panel. Does anyone have any idea.
