TS3 back and FSHost online NO JOINFS

Today is the day I have to shut off the .net server.

Everything is backup and ready for a new home. I bought a server last year to run the services but have not been able to find a good internet environment to put it in. I recently change my internet connectivity which now allows me to do port forwarding but the service is too flaky. Some days good other days just plain sucks.

See the update in the following post

FSHost can be found

fsserver.sim-outhouse.com:23465
IP Address 38.67.240.146

**EDIT**

Everything is back online now. The service here is to be upgraded next week. It will still not be great but for the purposes of online flying should work fine.

** 2nd EDIT **
I had to kill off JoinFS. Even in low bandwidth mode it uses too much of my internet connection constantly. It makes it almost impossible for me to do anything online. I am trying to get higher bandwidth from my ISP but they are not responding to my requests.

Flight 19: Homeless, broke, wandering the vast, dusty plains looking for a place to rest our bones, chat with friends and scrounge a meal...

The plug is pulled, the light shines no more. <<SIGH>>

We knew it was coming but it doesn't make the taste any sweeter.

Really I don't know what to say.

The logical side of me responds: "Screw it, it's not worth the effort." Virtually no one on SOH flies online, so why bother paying for equipment and bandwidth if no one cares or wants it. The handful of us that do partake can do direct connections on JoinFS (Yes, there's a small learning curve but the rewards are many) or we can make a place on one of the open servers.

The old grumpy guy says:"It's a shame that tornado took out the old garden shed. We all knew where the key was hidden and how to turn on the kerosene lantern in the dark". It was a good hangout and I miss it already. I don't mind using JoinFS but I know some are attached to FSHost's chat box so we'd have to get past that hurdle if there was a 'tomorrow'.

As much as anything (and the CFS guys are impacted more) is the loss of the TeamSpeak server and all the data stashed on there. Can this be shoehorned into the existing .com server or would there be a bandwidth issue?

Maybe the fact that this is the first comment/reply in two days is indicative...

:wiggle:

Teamspeak will by on this server. That should be done tomorrow night. We have plenty of bandwidth but I don't know how well it will work yet.

Teamspeak3 is back online on this server.

use any of these addresses
sim-outhouse.com
sim-outhouse.net
72.233.76.234

I don't have it set to run as a service yet so I have to start it manually. I am still trying to resolve an issue with starting the executable with the ini file.

There are no files on it yet. They are still transferring to the server. That will take awhile.

For JoinFS we should be showing up in the list now.

I poked it today and it finally started working. Not 100% sure what changed but its working.

Seems to be puttering along fine.
I joined last night (Friday) about 1900 MDT. there were 5 others on the server.

According to the map three were cruising Idaho, a couple on the US east coast and one supposedly being ATC in Churchill, MB
