Twin R-2800's...

I'm looking to see if anyone has a decent sound pack for a pair of 2800's. I have some aircraft where it desperately needs some tweaking in the sound department.

What I would like to have is a twin version of the Wings of Power P-47. That thing is low, deep, throaty and chugs quite well.

OBIO, I was thinking of you and your C-47 thread a month or so ago when you hears a deep and throaty version on tv.

I'm just wondering if anyone has something like this or they can point me in the right direction.

Using the sound files from the WoP Jug, you might be happy with this one.
Just rename it to sound.cfg...

Cheers,
Markus.

The engine installation in the P-47 was turbocharged which gives quite a different sound than installations (such as all of the USN ones) that were not. I do not know if the WOP sound pack reflects this correctly or not. You might try some of the ones such as for Milton's A-26 and Howard depending on what sort of plane you are trying to fit.

I've been cutting and pasting on and off for a long time to get that sound. Maybe it's just my set up but nothing yet really rattles my chest. Dad went partially deaf flying Marauders. I don't want it that bad but do want to do honor to those beasts. If I ever get it I will definitely post it.

I will give the 2800 a looking at and see what I can whip up with my handy dandy wav editors.

I copied and pasted the WOP sound files from the P-47 into Milton's A-26. While his model is top notch, I kinda dislike the humming at speed. The idle is great and the start up is great but I think the throttle runs are a bit lacking.

Now, I'm certainly not crying about a free model. I realize he put tons of time and effort into it and it is much appreciated that so many of us got it into our rigs, for free. I'm just trying to make a piece of gold into a piece of platinum. I just cant leave anything alone. I'm always trying to tweak something for that louder, throatier, deeper radial sound.

Not sure if you have tried this one or not...but I uploaded a twin R-2800 sound pack based on Lawdog's F8F Bearcat sound pack. I set it up for the F7F Tiger Cat....and I think I called the pack F7F sound pack or something like that. The high rpm sounds are nice and rumbly...not a consistent hum sound at all.

Is this located in FS9 or CFS2 in the download files here?
