Two problems

Hi you all

1) Bf109c SCW plane from SOH: when I choose it in free flight option all my wingmen explode as soon as the plane appears on the runaway (it bounces a bit when it appears, but the others really explode!)

2) Boomerang from Aeroplane Heaven: I have put the drop tank in a separate folder named "weapons", as suggested by the readme, and put it inside the weapons folder. Well, now I have a drop tank (the game doesn't crash anymore), but this tank is dropped as a bombload and even explodes when touching the ground. Furthermore, in spite of having an additional tank, the plane's fuel load is never more than 100%.

Any guesses?

THANKS

For the Boomerang at least, did you create a new folder named C13 Droptank? Then you have to copy and paste the C13 contents from the weapons folder into the C13 Droptank folder. Then place the new folder in Weapons. The rest of the ammo should be aliased to stock and should not give you any more problems.

The Bf109 is a different story with me altogether.

Hope this helps a bit.

Yeah, I did that. This way I do have a drop tank...that is really a bomb.

For the Bf109c I recall that an ancient Lavochkin (5?) had a similar problem that someone told me was related to defective contact points. Grizzly then sent me a fix file for that. I wonder if is the same problem now. Or is it just me?

drop tank

Be sure that in the drop tank's xdp you see this:

WeaponType="drop_tank"

if not it must be changed and the bdp deleted.

Yes the contact points are off a bit in the me109c SCW..
I have not had the time to address this yet..
But I am sure one of the masters here will post a fix before long..

If you're talking about the one I did recently (6-69), I spent quite a bit of time getting everything just right so it would appear sitting exactly at the angle and elevation it should. I just checked it again, and there's not so much as a twitch, let alone a bounce or a boom. Is everyone else having this problem too?

Major

Just a thought...would it have anything to do with the airfield I start the mission in?

Hi Major MaGee

I have those wingmen explosions in several airfields. It seems to have no logic sequence. For example, in Guernsey or Deriga Field (Spain).

Thanks for the help

Non.

I couldn't make it happen on the paved strip at Guernsey, but at Deriga it would start off fine on the dirt and then it looked like I had driven through quicksand with the tail wheel. No problem on the grass at Madrid.

...for me the planes bounces three or four times at Deriga, mostly with the tail, enough for the wingmen to :pop4: explode...

What Nonato describes seems right on point. At some fields, there is no issue. At others, certain aircraft (and I'm thinking of the IS4G SCW Bf109 B and D in particular) will explode on the runway even in the UI screen. Go figure.
