"I would never tell any soldier or service member, 'Hey, go out and get the Medal of Honor', because of the amount of pain and loss and tears that has to be shed in order to receive it"

"Even though this award is an awesome honor and a great privilege, in order to get such a prestigious award, you have to be in a situation where your soldiers, your family, your brothers, are suffering and dying around you. And then, you just did everything you could to save lives or prevent further loss."....Ty Michael Carter

Tells me ,courage,Love of Band of Brothers,Duty ,Honor and Country still is true in America today. This cutting thru the haze of negativism gives hope that America still is alive. This young man is alive,so many are not.All are Americas Great Men.

So very glad to see these medals finally being awarded. To put into context, this action was fought back in October 2009. He just this week had his medal pinned on by the President.

Had this been the case in World War II, as it has become the trend in today's military, actions taken at Pearl Harbor in December 1941 would not have seen the medals awarded until October 1945, two months after the war ended!
