Gentlemen,
I have just uploaded 18 airbases in the UK; Bodney, Boxted, Brooklands, Coltishal, Fowlmere, Guernsey, Halesworth, Leiston, Luton, Manston, Martlesham, Northolt, Rochford, Scampton, Steeple Morden, West Malling, Woolston and Yeovil.

Another 13 UK-bases can be found in my JHS_various and JHS_variousII packages (Gonfirth, Kirkwall, Ouston, Lossimouth, Cardiff, Bircham-Newton, Detling, Methwold, Haverhill, Conningsby, Kemble, Ramsgate and Woodhall Spa). Together with the other UK-bases around I think the UK is pretty much covered.

Now I' ll move across the Channel and pick-up work on French bases.

Cheers

Achim

Pic looks great...

... and surely rest of them too as shown in Rami's thread.
Great work:ernae:

Couldn't find it in CFS2 uploads section, but I guess, I'm too anxious to put my hands on it.:d

Is SOH staff keepin' it away just to prevent site crush due to heavy traffic?:costumes:

Cheers

.

I have contacted Achim about the several missing GSL entries....a fix should be on the way soon. :wavey:

Lovely stuff Achim. It looks like I have some deleting to do, as I assume your Manston, Steeple Morden etc will conflict with the ones I already have in scenedb and airbases.dat.
Many thanks for all your beautifully rendered scenery.

Gentlemen,

I have learned from Rami that the provided gsl-file is not complete. And I just found out that obviously while zipping and unzipping some files go missing and corrupted. The elevation information of Guernsey, Manston, Scampton and Yeovil went out of the window somehow so that only part of the fields show.

Rami is going to test the updated gsl file and if that is alright I wil upload two unzipped updates JHS_UK_scenery and JHS_UK_gsl.

Than you simply have to paste the new scenery into the approprate folder, to deinstall the old gsl and install the new one.

Sorry

Achim

I just tested the new GSL file, which has all of the entries included. It should be uploaded soon. :wiggle:

Great work, Achim! :wavey:

Achim uploaded the UK fields updates. Those bases work perfectly now. Great work! :ernae:

Back to the website...:banghead:

I have as issue with four bases. I'm starting out way to high above them. The ones in question are Cardiff, Gernsey, Gonfirth, and Woolston. Is there a fix for these?:wiggle:

Where in the UK is Gonfirth located? I select runway 36 and it puts me at an airfield, 500FT in the air, and located near Manston. When I look at the map, the airfield depicted on the map image looks nothing like Gonfirth I'm seeing in game.

Now when I select to takeoff on runway 18 It takes me out of the UK all together and on to an island formation to the North of the UK! And again the airfield image on the map is nothing like what is shown in game.

Wulf,

for Guernsey and Woolston try my JHS_UK_update2. I am going to check the matters on Gonfirth and Cardiff and come back to you.

Cheers

Achim

rgr wilco!

update:
I tried your update Achim. Woolston still has me hovering about 5-10ft above the ground, Guernsey has me 200FT in the air.

I even moved all your airfield files in to my Europe airfield file, still didn't correct it.

Somthing is goin on, I tried doing a low pass on Guernsey, and my Spit blew up at the approach end when I was going the opposite direction of which I took off from.

Achim, you also may want to take a look at Yovil. It has the same problem as Woolston, and the actual floor, or ground is below the runway textures, so you can fly right through the runway and then hit the ground.

I tried the old bgl files in your Uk_scenery 1, and when I compared the files tot he updated bgls, the times and dates on both files were the same.

Wolf, what mesh are you using with Guernsey? I was using the SRTM mesh and was having similar issues, turned off my mesh and all was goodness. I haven't checked the other bases yet.

Gavin

Yeah I'm using the STRM mesh, but I have the mesh set lower on the scenery list, so Achim's airfields should have priority, right?

I fixed my problem at Yovil. I moved my European airfield file lower on the scenery list, closer to the STRM mesh file, and I'm not having any more issues at Yovil. But The other four airfields I have been having problems with are still an issue.
