UKMIL T-38 now available to non club members

Awesome news, :jump: but i am getting download errors. Maybe the server is overloaded?

you do need to register for a FREE account, and when you select DOWNLOAD you will get a warning that the download MAY be a club download, and if it fails, that is the reason. if you accept the warning your download will begin, for free.

looks great. Gonna merge it with the Lotus L-39 VC. Not really accurate, but who cares, it's a great VC. now all we need are some NASA paints. Too bad I suck at repaints, lol

spent about an half an hour playing around san diego with it and i must say
THE FUEL GOES QUICK
had to refuel 4 times and i barely touched the afterburner!
for instance i was at 8% fuel on final at KNKX about 5 miles out, i ran out of fuel (the engines shut down) while i was still on the runway!

You can easily fix that by editing the aircraft.cfg file as follows:

In section [GeneralEngineData] :
fuel_flow_scalar = 1.0
(wonder why it is set at 2.600, AFAIK it should be set at 1.0 for FSX/A)

And in section [TurbineEngineData] :
ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 1.030
AfterBurnThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 2.200

That should give you the ballpark FC for the J85-GE-5A engines. Looking at the static thrust value it seems overpowered but that is not a showstopper for now. Looking at the empty weight value, this is too high so that probably compensates each other...

Finally, the fuel capacity should be 582 usable gallons, not 225 (!). Change that in section [fuel] :
Center1 = 2.000, 0.000, 0.000, 582, 0
 
The L-39 merge is a nice idea.

If anyone doesn't have Lotus' version but needs a L-39 VC anyways, take it from this model:

Not possible as the FSD T-38 is not FSX native, which means only one mdl file for the whole aircraft and VC, whereas FSX has two mdls, one for the externals the other internals.

How is the new T-38, anyone got any shots?

I was thinking about merging it with Piglet's F-5A model, but don't know how. What's needed to merge one aircraft with anothers VC?
 
I cannot log in. I have my username, I have my initial welcome reply, from 1/28/2008, but I cannot remember my login password. (Seems to be NOT the one I normally use.) When I request to be able to reset my password, I get a message saying my username/email combination not on file, but when I try to register, it says they are!! HELP!!
