I just bought GE Pro..Looks like a good one.....But...

It has been suggested here to also get Ultimate Terrain....But which version to get..It is very confusing as they offer these two

1)
Ultimate Terrain: Canada/Alaska CD Edition for FS2004 For $29.95 (CD Version)

2)
Ultimate Terrain: USA for FS2004 $34.95 Download Version

This makes no sence to me....The CD is cheaper and covers Alaska too

The download costs more and is just the USA..

Well..With 5 bucks shipping the cost is the same...But one is USA only and one is USA / Alaska

Any thoughts are welcome.........Thanks

Merry Christmas

Hi there,

I have all 3 UT sceneries (Canada/Alaska, USA and Europe). In my opinion all three are really worth the money. I am very familiar with the real world situation in the Netherlands, Northern Ireland and Central Germany. All three regions are being featured very well in the UT Europe scenery. I am pretty sure that the makers of Ultimate Terrain did deliver a similar good result with the Canada/Alaska and USA sceneries.

UT USA does not cover Alaska. It does cover Hawaii though, so 49 states. :mixedsmi: In order to have the USA complete you should indeed buy both UT Canada/Alaska and UT USA. That's what I did after visiting their site (http://www.scenerysolutions.com/UT.html)

Cheers,
Maarten

But...Here is what i'm after..(see top post)

Ultimate Terrain has two USA versions...

The download has just USA

The CD Version has USA and Alaska

Do I assume that the USA part is the same for both,as they are the same price (one with shipping costs) and the CD version just has the extra Alaske included?

Hi Harleyman,

At the moment I am flying "early 1960s" so am using the CalClassic scenery, but I checked the information I received on the pdf-document included on my UT USA CD, just to be sure.

The result: the download version does not include Alaska and neither does the CD version.
So, in order to have the USA complete you better order both CDs (or downloads). You really won't regret it. I can only can second skyhawka4m's words.

Cheers,
Maarten

I don't see an option for the CD version of UT. Anybody know when it's coming out? I know it says June or August or something like that but I think that's from last spring.

As far as I can tell UT-USA is only available by download. Is this method a problem for you ?

I can confirm what Alastair said. Flight One stopped shipping CD versions of UT for FS9 some time ago. You still might be able to find a copy in a small European retail shop. But, it could be difficult.

Ok....Man I'm loosing my mind...Just ask my wife...She will confirm..

I have looked at the Flight1 web site 10 times at what I was reading as UT USA / Alaska.... It does not say that at all...It is Canada and Alaska I have been looking at....

So as now I read it correctly it is a Boxed Version od Alaska / Canada and a Download of just USA...

Thatks for all your help..

It seems I need new glasses or third grade reading lessons......Man...Not good.....LOL

Maarten...Thanks for all your help and info...:applause:

Hey Tom.....Where did you find a DVD Version of GE Pro(is that what you are refering too?) Or just Ground Enviroment?

All I can find is Flight1 version as a download.....:banghead:

Unfortunately, I acted so quickly on impulse, I just scrolled back up the page and ordered GE on CD. Thinking in my mind at the time was that I WAS ordering GEP! It wasn't until about an hour or so later that I realized my mistake! :costumes:
Oh well, it's about $20 cheaper than GEP and I'm sure it'll look way better then what I'm used to.

There's a lesson to be learned here, I'll try and figure out what it is right after I go out and buy something impulsively!

No, you want GEP, it works with all the UTs, Active Sky 6.5 and I assume the new Active Sky Advanced and REP.

At one time I was running GE and Bird's Eye View and I preferred Bird's Eye View. Once I got GEP, I deleted BEV from FS9 and my computer and never looked back.

Hey Tom...Go to the Flight 1 page again and fill out a ticket..Tell them what you did...They will then have you buy GEP and then when they see that ,(you send through the same ticket your proof of purchase) they will refund your 20 back...I did it with GEX when it hit as a DVD...They are real good about it too...

I would do it .....

OK, I sent a ticket and we'll see what happens. Could be a good thing that I ordered on a weekend!
Thanks for the advice!

Well I installed UT with my Real Scene mesh/ landclass @ 30M and I don't like it at all....:banghead:

It washed out my sim color and put lots of objects under water, even changing the Terraine Max from 19 to 20......

I will see what they have to say to help with all that....
