Unresponsive wheels on a POSKY 747

I just tried out the Tropical Sun Cargo 747-400 (Project Open Sky B747-400 v4 repaint in Tropical Sun Cargo colors by Colin Lowe. po744tsc.zip). The problem is that the wheels deploy this way; nose wheel at 80 degrees to center line and main gear normally pivoted as in prior to touch down. But when landing they all stay fixed in these positions but the A/C lands normally. I tried other models and installers and the paint won't stick on any other A/C. Where should I look for fixing?

No problems with this particular plane .......

Be sure to use the original panel !
If you use third party panel you have some modifications to make in the panel.cfg and some files to add
All explanations are in the legacy forum of Posky !

They are not currently accepting new members so I can't view the examples they give, but it looks like I can decipher enough to get by. I do have a better panel so next I'll have to see if I can get them all to play nice. Many thanks.

Yep, put the original panel in and the wheels look like wheels now.

The panel supplied with the V4 747 series is a slight modification of the default. If you scroll through the panel.cfg, you'll find references to Posky control gauges. If you copy those lines to your favorite third party panel, along with the required xml gauge files, you shouldn't have any problems. Another issue is that you have an old model release. Hiroshi released a series of updated models that include "panel detection" logic. In other words, if the xml control gauges are missing, the model's animation falls back into a "dumb" mode. This allows better visuals for AI and multiplayer use. Every single visual variant was updated, and the key to finding the right one is in the name of the mdl in the Model folder. I looked up yours and it's the OS744FV4_RB211-524G. Your exact model update is located here:

The file date on the mdl file in the package you have is 11/13/07. The updated mdl file in the service pack is 10/28/08. The service pack also includes an updated panel and a few new texture files.

Talk about perfect timing. I have many of the 747's installed and never had an issue as I used the "std" panel. However, I just installed the 747SP and used Ken Mitchell's analog panel as most of the "SP" birds were modified -100's which were a steam gauge heaven. The PW version I had used an older model so the problem didn't show up. But the RR version was the later version 4 and -- Oops -- there went the bogies.

The suggested fix worked perfectly. As soon as I pasted the additional entry to Ken's panel, the world was back to normal:icon_lol: I already had the xml and gauges in the system from earlier installs.

The panel I use is by Francisco Silva and FS Panel Studio but there are others out there that do a fair service to the window shape so you believe you're in a 747. What I never understand is why so many put the view point so close to the center line, like you're leaning to the right to get equal sound from the speakers or something.
