Upcoming RV10

If it supported the TDS GTN 650Xi I'd get it....but the G3X's are pointless in the sim. The WT GNS is a great addon now but in VR I still prefer the GTN.

I understand that they are bound by their agreement with Vans to only have the G3000s, but there are really too many stock G3000 aircraft as it is. I'll probably pass on this as I have their RV-14. If I had flying experience in an RV-10 I might be more compelled.

It's actually the G3X touch - same that's in the XCubs. The G3000 is what's in the TBM and a few others and is controlled both through soft buttons on the bezels and through remote touch screens.

Oops, should have watched the video and paid attention! Thanks for the correction. I do like the panel layout in this one all said. Might still impulse buy it then it comes out.

I love it how I often have no idea what people are saying...

Sorry acronym alphabet soup!

I mean to say that the default G3X - which is the 3 large screens present in this RV10, are very bland and basic as far as functionality goes (vs the real one).

The GNS430 (the little GPS in the middle on the bottom) is actually a very nice avionics unit due to the fact that WT (Working Title), who is a first party of Microsoft, has coded a really in depth simulation of the GNS430. It's akin to the old Reality XP GNS series for FSX and other sims.

And then finally, when I'm using Virtual Reality (VR), it can be tough to click on little clickspots like if I were to change a frequency using knobs on the GNS430 gauge bezel. If this RV10 supported the amazing TDS GTN 650Xi, for example ( https://www.tdssim.com/tdsgtnxi ), it's a touch screen-based GPS unit - so manipulating frequencies and stuff is easier in VR when using a mouse.

My curmudgeon factor is coming out. I am finding it hard to get excited about this one. It, to me, is too much like the RV-14. I would have preferred and loved a RV-8 instead.

I have a tendency to hold back on anything to do with AVAngel. I prefer to wait and see other reviews before I dive in and spend my money.

To be frank, this one is worse. I have the lovely RV14 and use it with the TDS GTN 750Xi. For this RV10 they opted to not even include a GTN. You're stuck with an outdated GNS430 (outdated irl - in the sim it's nicely simulated by WorkingTitle).
