Downfall was very well acted, it captured me from the start.From our CBI history another little known japanese war movie which came out in the late 40's black and white was "the Burmese harp".Its the story of a jap soldier who goes nuts seeing so much death during the campaign in Burma, he becomes a monk and you see footage taken at the main Bhuddist temple in Rangoon,i visited this temple in 81 and it hasnt changed,if anyone has a chance or is passing by what is Myanmar today go see the temple,its impressive.Most probably you have all seen the Chinese movie City of life and death by now,the story of the rape of Nanking.Another Chinese movie also in black and white is Enemy at the doorstep a story of japanese occupation in China,you might find this one a bit strange.

gee my mom likes to watch Turner Classic Movie a lot mostly because there's nothing good on TV those days I usually watch with her sometimes I like most of the stuff they show in these movies wish I could remember what WW2 movies they shown but can't at the moment :mixedsmi:

I've looked over the list and this one might be there and I overlooked it. Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo has some great shoots of B-25's and the special effects were very good for that period. Did anyone mention Flying Tigers with the ever great John Wayne? I understand all those great P-40's used for the ground shots were actually made of wood, constructed by the studio carpenters for the movie. Also, The Sands of Iwo Jima had some good moments.
